On March 5, During the LEAP Technology Exhibition in Riyadh，iDreamSky (01119.HK) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on strategic cooperation between iDreamSky and SCCC Alibaba Cloud，Both parties will deepen their collaboration in the fields of video game and electronic sports based on their respective strengths, so as to make collaborative preparations for the video game market in Saudi Arabia.

According to the MOU, SCCC will provide nationwide network performance optimization for iDreamSky, through its leading cloud infrastructure, to provide the best user experience and game performance, and help the latter to release and operate video games such as Calabiyau in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, SCCC will also rely on its own resources to help iDreamSky promote its SaaS tools, etc. in Saudi Arabia, thus to improve the video game development capacities in the regions. In addition, the two parties will explore more potential cooperation projects and co-build a partnership network in the video game field to promote the prosperity of the game industry.

Jeff Lyndon gave the answer to why iDreamSky is optimistic about the Saudi market. In his keynote speech at the LEAP, he referred to Saudi Arabia as one of the important centers of the Islamic world as well as a large Arabic-speaking base of video gamers in the Middle East and North Africa region, which has a huge group of game users. For now, the local electronic sports and video game industries are in the early stage of vigorous development. But the country has little localized content and these industries are yet to be further developed. In contrast, the Asian video game market has already gone through three stages of development: from the period when players were playing foreign games directly, to the period when agent-operated games constituted the mainstream of the industry, then to the period of self-developing video games. Nowadays, the Asian video game market has entered a mature stage, with successful experience that can be replicated.
He said，“iDreamSky has persistently developed in the video game industry for more than a decade.
